I thought I would come up with some quick, all new social media ideas for April, especially if your business wants to reach your local market. You can find more ideas in my best-selling download, 365 Social Media Ideas.
Opening Day
While baseball’s opening day is March 30th, you can still take advantage of the interest in this topic on social media by posting a list of all of the home games in April (if you have a local team).
Tax Tip
April is tax month in North America, so post a tax tip related to what you sell. For example, if you’re a realtor, post a tax tip for new home owners.
Easter
One of the biggest local searches is always, “What’s Open on Easter?” so post a list of what’s open in your city (i.e. banks, restaurants, etc.) and it will likely get a lot of engagement.
Gardening
Searches for various gardening topics surge in April, so post a list of what plant zone your city is in, and what grows best there.
Earth Day
With Earth Day on April 22nd, searches on various recycling topics hit a high. So post a list of local recycling depots in your city.
On all of your posts, always include a hashtag for your city in comments, and always have your business url on the post graphic.
